What are the different styles of breast collars for, and which Riata breast collar is right for me? There are as many choices of breast collars here at Riata as there are headstalls. Most of our headstalls have a matching breast collar as well. as nose bands. Our 1 inch thick breast collars are good for light use, where some stabilization is good, but heavy pressure will not be applied. Some ideas are everyday riding, light trail with short mild hills, barrel racing and arena exercises. For heavy trails, farm work or light roping, you can choose one of our medium sized breast collars from 1.5 inches to the full 3 inch breast collars. For roping, you want a wide sturdy breast collar that will distribute the immense amount of pressure put on your horse, we have roping breast collars available with many decorative options as well as matching many of our popular headstalls.
